About Jennifer Ciavirella Schmidberger

An education professional in Yorktown Heights, New York, Jennifer Ciavirella Schmidberger serves as the Director of Student Support Services and Curriculum and Instruction at the Bronx Charter School for the Arts. Jennifer Ciavirella Schmidberger holds a range of responsibilities there, from facilitating individualized education program (IEP) processes to planning and overseeing the school’s intervention programming for at-risk students. Ms. Ciavirella began her career in education as a teacher at Sacred Heart Elementary School in 1997. She went on to serve as the principal at several schools, including the founding principal of Patterson Park Public Charter School in Baltimore, Maryland, founding Principal at Lincoln Park Public Charter School in Prince George County, Maryland and founding principal at Bronx Academy of Promise. She also has teaching experiences in an inclusive collaborative setting specifically in middle school grades. Ms. Ciavirella has a Master of Science in Education Administration from the University at Albany, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from the same institution. While attending undergrad, she played collegiate basketball and softball and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She is a member of the Zumba Instructor Network. With more than six years of experience in leading classes at clubs and gyms, she teaches eight classes weekly. She has also spent several years as a volunteer Amateur Athletic Union girls basketball coach.
